At this time the prospects of Sunshine being able to attend Burning Man do not look too hopeful. This could always change, however. That being said I wish to submit this thought. The contest could happen without him. It would take someone with good organizational skills and good connections on Playa and pre Playa. While I would be happy to do promotions, swag and security, I have neither the connections for a venue or the time to organize this on Playa. Also, I do not have sound equipment or the ability to come up with a suitable score. My other duties with the Event and the big show on Friday night preclude me doing any more. I would be happy to take care of the above mentioned items, but someone would need to step up to the plate to make this happen. If there are any takers, please contact me and/or post your thoughts. Naturally I would contact him to make certain we are not imfringing on the event he created many years ago.

Now I know I may draw the ire of some for posting this but I think it is worth mentioning because of how negative our interaction was with one individual who was manging the line. I had been extremely excited to finally attend the GCBEC this year with my girlfriend after missing it the last two times I had been to burning man. We were excited, if not a bit nervous and thought a good first step would be to go as cheerleaders , and decide on our level of comfort once there because neither of us had attended anything like this but were open to the idea. Now this is where the aforementioned incident occurred. The gentleman, and I use this term very loosely for this individual, who was managing the line neglected to check our ID's initially and then told us to convince him that we were participants and should be let in. We were caught a bit off guard because we weren't 100% prepared to make that decision in line right there nor did we know what he wanted as "proof" so we faltered a bit and tried to explain our intentions. At this point he shuts us down completely and very publicly shouts at us to get out of line, us and several other couples whom we were not with, and continues his rude verbal tirade when we tried to explain ourselves after getting out of line, so as not to look like to everyone who was alerted to our unceremonious ejection, the we weren't trying to be some sort of creepers but were rather a curious couple who wanted to ease themselves into a group situation like that. I know I will get the rebuttal of "participants only" and I completely appreciate and respect that aspect. We came under the impression that cheerleading was acceptable participation and that it would be a good place to start from to get comfortable with the possibility of subsequent active participation. Were not cool with the idea of "proving" our worthyness to some guy who demands to see up my girlfriends skirt as payment for entry. If he had said that the event was filling up and that they were just looking for committed participation and no cheerleaders or whatever then we would have said aww that sucks, well thanks anyways and been on our way. He chose to act in the most disrespectful way one could have in a situation like that and I think it is worth saying something so that at least the info is out there and and people can be aware of the fact that this guy likely made many other people feel like complete pariahs as a result of his inability to extend any respect to those who had shown the respect that was owed to him as a gate keeper.

This is a Great Canadian Beaver Eating Contest sequence of events reference for the Masturbator Of Ceremonies, Judges, Security, Sound Crew, etc. I have not decided if we'll have 2 or 3 heats (last years 3 heats was a marathon). All of the timing throughout the event (intro, heats, breaks, etc.) is based on musical cues for a casual fun pace and to ease confusion about what happens when.

The GCBEC Score! volume should start louder than the rest of the contest during Intro and Placement so that participants waiting outside can hear it. At the Introduction when they are inside and for the remainder of the contest the sound level should only be enveloping, so that it is not blasting loud but so that everyone can confidently hear it above the commotion. If there is a question, err on the side of louder than not. The Masturbator Of Ceremonies and judges will have megaphones so there is absolutely no need to turn it down when they speak. The volume of the recording varies throughout the Score! and even within each mix so the sound crew will need to ride the volume levels.

= Intro (43:00) =
This intro music is to wet the appetite and get the juices flowing creating a fun atmosphere in a sexually charged frenzy of anticipation while waiting outside the Beaver Lodge. Participants will remain outside the Beaver Lodge (exceptions are judges, security, sound crew, host campers, etc.).

- CD1 1:05:24 - starts 8:00pm -
CD101 00:30 Simpsons 'THX Intro'
CD102 04:40 Aphex Twin 'Window Licker (Sunshine Edit) '
CD103 02:00 Wicked Sunshine 'Absurd Window Licker Save A Prayer Hymn Toxic Phat Bass Mash Up'
CD104 24:08 Wicked Sunshine 'Eros Plus Mix'
CD105 03:19 Wicked Sunshine 'Intro Comedy Mix'
CD106 04:21 Primus 'Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver'
CD107 03:59 Wicked Sunshine 'Pre-Intro Mix'
(Ends with 'Party' medley with Monty Python sample 'And now the moment you’ve been waiting for.')

= Placement (25:06) =
Organizers (judges, security, sound crew, host campers, etc.) will be moving about freely, many wearing special Beaver Patrol caps. Participants are permitted entrance to the Beaver Lodge in the following order:
- Sunshine's VIPs & bribers
- Threesomes or more
- Couples
- Single cute spunky naked cheerleader girls
- Cheerleaders (must stand around the edges of the structure - no standing in the middle blocking the view)
The security team may choose to make separate line ups for each category. Take your sweet time, there is no rush, anticipation is half the fun, but make sure they get in - DO NOT STOP letting them in. Accept their bribes, make it fun, make it sexy.

CD108 13:35 Wicked Sunshine 'Old Skool Mix'

(I didn’t like the format change and I’m still figuring it all out). It's time for Sunshine to catch up to the eager beavers.

I’ve been busy directing music videos ( http://www.SharedVoice.org/semper_fi/ and http://www.WickedSunshine.com/Projects/JustGoOutWithMe/ ), being creative director for a new smart energy drink called SmartPower and working on that campaign, and this past weekend we held a SoFA art and performance street fair ( http://www.GoToSoFA.com ) for the Oakland community. Now with BM around the corner I suppose I should get all my beavers in a row and update the website. I’m as eager as a beaver so I will get on it soon and I promise to be wittier next time you read me.
annual Great Canadian Beaver Eating Contest?

We’re looking for a welcoming space:
- available Thursday evening from 5 or 6pm, contest starts at 9pm,
playtime until ?, clean up Friday am
- 20’x30’ minimum (packed to hold at least 60 couples and groups),
carpet would be nice
- enclosed (for security and crowd control)
- power supply for a sound system, 4-8 red lights, perhaps a few rope
lights, fans – we can contribute fuel
- with a sound system would be ideal (enveloping the crowd but certainly
not blasting sound)

We’ll arrange:
- security (no minors, no single men, no recording devices)
- we can help move furniture and objects out for the event Thursday
afternoon and replace them after on Friday morning
- soundtrack
- publicity
- fun
- clean up
Please contact me off list by email if you’re interested in helping us
make this contest happen! Hell, we’ve already said we are going to do
it, but now it remains... Where is the GCBEC going to be held in 2006 eh?

At present the GCBEC gift shop has many of the items above and more. Even if I lower the costs for someone to bulk order (which I can do at anyone’s specific request) Café Press takes their chunk for the products. Unfortunately I have no economic way to mass produce schwag.

I have design a flyer to be printed and distributed on playa. The BM guide will have us listed to take place in Gigsville, though I have not yet secured a venue. Once the venue is secure I will be adding that information to the flyer and anyone interested may print them up to their hearts content.

Also, if anyone feel really ambitious, I have some designs that could be printed on larger, more expensive, 11x17 or 13x19 paper. I printed a few signs in Ontario, but now that I’m back in SF I’m regretting not making more.

While I am organizing my 6th GCBEC, I have to admit that I am not a sex party person so I am calling on everyone to help me establish reasonable minimal rules of entry for the Post-GCBEC Cuddle Party.

Rules Of Entry:
- Be respectful.
- No recording devices.
- You must be invited to participate - do not impose yourself on other participants.
- Everyone must be naked regardless of participation, single or otherwise. Fair is fair.
- Appreciate the security and the DJ.

If you can think of anything else to add I am eager as a beaver to hear it.

Eager,
~ jSunshine *

GCBEC Security - Message From Harley

Dear Camps with Adult Activities,

This letter is being sent to you because you checked a box on our questionnaire alerting us to some activities that may have consequences for you as the theme camp organizer, and us as the infra-structure for Burning Man. If you are doing massage or are playing with subject matter that is sexual or taboo you should be aware of some information about Nevada and our event.

Burning Man has always been and is still radically inclusive. Everyone is welcome. Many people's lives are changed by this one principle alone. In order for this community to continue, each individual and theme camp has a responsibility to ensure that it does not endanger the survival of Burning Man. With this principle in place, the responsibility to deal with unacceptable behaviors falls more heavily on each individual's shoulders. Our message has always been clearly that everyone is responsible for taking care of themselves, and problem situations should first be attempted to be handled by the immediate community itself.

The laws in Nevada are much more strict in the areas of nudity and minors than some other states. In reality your theme camp is in as much danger of a legal battle if something unfortunate were to happen (or be perceived to have happened) as our event would be. Also, when evaluating our Black Rock City citizens it is clear that not everyone is prepared to handle extreme situations as well as others. Compromised states of consciousness can mitigate good judgment. Misunderstandings can easily occur causing severe ramifications for the people involved, the person/people hosting that theme camp, or for the Burning Man project. The worst scenario would involve harassment or rape.

Please be conscious of the environment you are creating and be prepared to manage that space. That means keeping your eyes wide open and observing your theme camp closely. Creating an environment where people are encouraged to let go of their normal inhibitions could run the risk of creating a situation where someone may not consent to everything that is happening. Intoxicated people may not be able to control what is happening to them. A Black Rock Ranger should be called immediately if an unwanted situation is in progress. Our Black Rock Rangers are volunteers and are a part of our community. There are Black Rock Rangers that are experienced in handling these sorts of incidents and will be available to assist you.

Be especially careful about situations involving people under the age of eighteen. No adult activities should be on public display. Please steer any one under age away from any camps that are appropriate for adults only. We have been asked by local law enforcement to encourage you to post a look out for minors whenever adult oriented activities are happening. This person should be actively encouraging minors to move along and adult activities should be shielded from public view.

Unfortunately there have been some bad apples in our Burning Man bunch. There have not been many, but there have been some. Law enforcement will be looking more closely to see that we are all acting with due respect to the their local laws as well. Please make clear choices towards awareness and make safety part of your planning. Actively manage your camps, use a look out when appropriate and report any problems that occur.

I welcome your feedback,

Harley K. DuBois
